UMASS Facilities Event Policy 5-25-2006

 

The U/Mass Facilities Department is a service organization and we are responsible for the University's indoor and outdoor areas. Our goal is to provide a cleaner and comfortable environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. On the topic of “Special Campus Events” where visitors are invited to enjoy our campus – our goal is no different.

Facilities will diligently work with event planners to ensure campus policy is adhered to in an economical manner by minimizing cost whenever possible. The Facilities Support Service staff use the R25 web-viewer to examine future events. Facilities do attend weekly R25 meetings with all campus Event Planners in order to effectively plan what types of services may be needed to a given event. Facilities does reserves the right to supplement assigned services; base upon changes to the scope of scheduled events, and in cases where other event may be scheduled in a back to back mode increasing campus service demands.

Additional services are required and based on the following circumstances:

 
  Day of the event
  Timeframe/length of function
  Levels of all activities in campus buildings
  otal attendees to any given event
 
The cost for “Special Event” cleaners is set at $25.00 with a four hour minimum – all charges are recharged by the Facilities department with the appropriate Event Planner.
